the power of the mind
i remember lontok and i used to reiterate that phrase to each other. i'm not sure who the originator was- but i'll be generous at let g.lo claim that one.
but seriously, beyond physical strength- i believe that one's mind possesses more power than you may (or may not) give it credit for.
i come from a family of very intuitive/semi-psychic souls. i know i sounded very over superstitious pilipino there. but it's true- or my truth at least.
what it may really be is that we've fine tuned our ability to read people's energy.
example one: just moments ago, i was thinking about my cousin/sistah sinta danika. two seconds afterwards, i check my emeezie and there was an email from her! mind you, i rarely receive emails from this chica.

example numero dos: about three months ago i had a dream about one of my homegirls. in the dream, i dreamt that homegirl was a living hermaphrodite. (in the dream) it tripped me out that she looked like a female, spoke like a female, acted like a female, but then low and behold, homegirl had a vagina and a penis. in the dream she wanted to show us...but i responded, "NOOOOO thank you!"

the very next morning, after the dream- i emailed homegirl telling her about my dream in regards to her being a hermaphrodite.
"ewww...gross," was her response.
early last week miss homiechickity herself informs me that she's pregnant! whhaaaaaa!!! and that she just had her ultra sound and was able to see her baby's 'wee wee' (she called it wee wee)...so she found out it's a boy!!! CONGRATS woman! congrats...seriously, AMAZING.
the moral of the story: mia is psychic. i dreamt that she was carrying a penis as a hermaphrodite...and low and behold, she is carrying a little boy inside of her this very moment.
THE POWER OF THE MIND, I tell 'ya. I have a million more examples...but you get the point.
now, i just have to tell my mind to tell my body to get over this little bug that's been in my system over the past week. it kinda sucks or maybe it's all in my mind?
