entertain me.

jollibee on beverly/vermont- i know!!! how freakin' DOPE!

w/ the native posse...UP!

i'm absolutely LOVING los angeles right now. this city is giving me mad love and i feel like the least i can do is reciprocate the love right back... from the very LA fans at the dodger & clipper games -to shows at hollywood bowl -to pete's bread pudding -to sam woo's special chow mein hong kong style (crispy noodles) at 1:30am after getting my groove on -to my newly discovered surface street short cuts -to the sunsets in highland park and playing hookie to go to the beach (haven't done it this summer- but definitely WILL) -to my new hair stylist in echo park who charged me only $12 dollar for the new do -to mama's hot tamales -to the innovative ways one can sneak into the MOCA/geffen in jtown -to the tres leche cake off of 1st & indiana in east los-- to having my own SPACE during those precious 10-15 minutes it takes me to get to work - to jollibee's on beverly (how dope is that?) - to barragan's chiliquiles (the BEST chiliquiles in town, i will add) - to my hole-in-the wall latino grocery stores (4 mangos for a dollar- are you serious?)... the haitian spot that serves the bombass lemonade sprinkled with vanilla...i can go on and on and on.

& to the unheard/unseen crevices in this city that i absolutely adore and am thankful that silverlake hippsters/wannabe celebs have yet to discover...what makes me tingle the most about LA LA is all the generous-warm-loving native angelinos who have shown me unconditional love and support since i stepped foot into so cal as a wide eyed 17 year old. no disrespect to the millions of out-of-towners, as i am one myself, but on the real, the native angelinos/so cal'rs have shown me the most love by far.

Murs' LA song makes me giggle since he chose to ignore so much of what's really going down in this city. i also laugh hysterically when people choose to hate on this city and/or they only notice the obvious stereotypes...and those people, i could careless for (they can stay kickin it on the cheez-ee clubs on sunset; west of crescent heights) because they're the last folks i'd like to run into when i'm in my LA zones & unheard ravines. ..& sure, we breath in a ton more pollution than the rest of the county...but you know, thanks to the pollution, there's no other place on the west coast can beat the gorgeous LA sunrises (uhhh, well, you can't win 'em all...)

next year will be my 10 year anniversary of my habitation within the city of angels and i'm happy to say that the new digs have finally broken in ...

yoowwwwwwwwwwssssssers.
