it's a SIN(ta)

Do not fear death by water.
Instead, fear being lost at sea
in a life of mediocrity;
where happiness is bland and there is nothing better to do but sleep.

Death by water & Thoughts of a romantic Part V: Choices (excerpt)
----
labor day is an understatement. it's almost 4am and gregorio and i are still grinding away. he's got the beta machine on lockdown and his handy dandy new scanner has become my new boy toy. 700 photos (+) scanned and counting. i'm becoming a little delirious as i give myself an A+ for not giving into coffee or smokes as we pull this 2nd (or is it 3rd?) all nighter in a row.

the cebrian's have been over-the-top generous with their space and allowing us to invade their basement/narra's current pseudo post production room.

in other news... the poem above was an excerpt taken from works by my dear sistahhhh/cousin extraordinaire sinta. last week sinta turned the big 1-7 and she's glowing more than any other seventeen year old that i know of. this over achiever violinist/pro softballer has me taking a step back, reflecting on my lack of initiative as a teenager. at the time, i thought of myself as a semi-overachiever-- but when observing sinta now, i see that i was an amateur seventeener back in my day. her efforts have bumped up the curve.

above is a drawing by sinta; and below the closest book that i found next to her night stand. yes, i've become scan-happy and ...what the heck is a 17 year old doing reading this book? it's a sin how f*cking talented sinta is...but i have no doubt that the only direction for her to progress is up, up, up.

i feel inadequately ignorant. or maybe i'm just exhausted.
or maybe it's both.
