now, that's what i call a scar
have you ever been on a date or in a conversation with a stranger that appears to going nowhere? the solution? ask the person to show you their gnarliest (is that a word?) scar and to tell you the story behind it. seriously, this conversation tactic works. people love to talk about themselves and the story behind one's scar is usually an interesting one. and 9 times out of 10- guaranteed, the person you're talking to is willing to show you their scar.
as for me? my greatest scar, which isn't really that great, is an unnoticeable one on my chin. when i was three or four i was dangling upside down on the monkey bars, fell on my face, and ended up getting about 6 stitches.
you see- my brother is a 'daredevil' rock climber; after playing volleyball for a couple years in high school and middle school; after dating a skater; and in the midst of cohabitating with a surfer- you'd think i've seen every kind of scar imaginable. well, think again.
never in my life have i seen a scar like this:

grandpapi: post surgery
grandpapi is recovering superbly from his open-heart double bypass surgery. we're oh-so-very thankful! after being under the knife- he's still his happy, sarcastic, happy-go-lucky, and sharp self. i guess playing the piano for over 65 years didn't only strengthen his fingers- but his mind, heart & soul as well.
but seriously, i'll give an all expensed paid trip to the pi to anyone who can show me a scar that's just as magnificent as grandaddeo's.
