raisins in your empanadas?

have you ever bitten into a tasty-ass empanada only to be slightly disappointed to discover that there are raisins up in that mug? i'm not one to waste my food and i'll continue eating, but in the back of my mind i'll have that "damn, that empanada would've been the sh*t without raisins" thought.

it's kind of like when there's an actor/musician/athlete who you've admired from afar. you watch their movies, buy their albums (and/or download their songs and play the hell out of them), & watch them perform...and when you have an opportunity to meet this artist/athlete in person, the moment is bunk-tified. reason being, you're disappointed to find out that:
a) the celebrity/actor/musician/athlete is totally wack vibes,
b) they're a b*tch and a half and/or an asshole and a half,
and/or
c) they're not as intelligent as their publicist makes them out to be.

these are both rare and not-so-rare cases, yes. however, they are little moments that i have appreciated where expecting the unexpected, never assuming and learning to love to be proven wrong are weekly necessities towards keeping an open mind.

but, empanadas aside, how wack wack wack is it that our beloved president of 'merica denies recognizing the deaths of over a million people as genocide? luckily, the house committee doesn't share the same sentiments.

and how not-so-wack is it that the folks who wrote this book (which i'm sure most of you have read), now have this blog. ahhhh, it's like a breath of fresh air in cyberspace.

word to big bird.
daily rant es terminado.
paz.
