inquiring minds don't really givva f*ck

(above inspiration provided by art-eest extraordinaire mr. david araquel)
in addition to dave's effortless defiance depicted atop--
presently, i'm feeling like a mix of these two songs:
1) malo's "suavecito"
&
2) del's "madness."
anyhoo...
two days ago, the emcee and i were having a constructive playful conversation about artists and their egos.
"who do you think has bigger egos- filmmakers or musicians [generally speaking]?" i inquired.
"musicians are definitely more humble than filmmakers," the emcee replied.
as much as i was in the mood debate, i would have to agree.
filmmakers [generally speaking] can be some arrogant mu'f*ckers sometimes. god knows that my swaggering ass can use some taming once (okay, maybe twice) in a blue moon.
reason being, filmmakers [sometimes] see themselves as the "ultimate" artists- having to combine all mediums of art [leadership, writing, performing, visual design, architecture, music, sound design, etc.] into one- leaving that much more room for error (physically, mentally, emotionally & financially.) i can't even count how many times i've come across a filmmaker with an ego larger than the state of texas, only to find out that they've shot one short film... versus- numerous musicians i know whose everyday demeanor far from parallels their (history, confidence &) ability to rock a crowd.
if only there was some kind of device that could instantly humble an artist's ego.
ahhh well, i resort to Del...
"things you can do; some can't be done."
