family parties

family party: THEN

family party: NOW
oh, how i'm longing for another family party to occur. what i'm missing the most at this very moment is the FOOD because what is a decent pilipino family party without some good grubb'in? the laughing, smiling, karaoke, playing cards, and "you're getting fat" comments- they're all just icing on the cake. you know that the film Debut doesn't do the pilipino family justice in depicting the proper way that we celebrate. i remember Geraly and Jessica mentioning how that family (in the Debut) is probably the most boring pilipino family they've ever seen. i would have to agree as ya'll know we have mad issues.
this morning tim told me, once again, how "you're crazy." yah, yah, so what's new? add that to the list of things i miss- 'crazy family issues.' my cousin's wedding last week was probably one of the first Villanueva family parties where no fights broke out. maybe because `ate meg was smart in hiring security guards to keep an eye out on the family- just in case something went down.
the fighting, the eating, the cooking, the gossipping, the singing, the dancing= the joy of a true pilipino family party.

i just invited the WHOLE family (the filiino side) over for christmas at my house.
i'm CRAZEE... but i couldn't imagine celebrating the birth of babyzilla any other way!
bring on the lechon, the pancit, the calderetta, the humba, and the kutsinta and the mahjong and the line dancing and the karaoke!!!! :)
oh the spoils of being a pilipino: family parties!! mia, you hit that one on the dot, for real! the food is the best, and i love that we use "merienda" as an excuse to keep eating and eating and eating for as long as we are at one of these parties.
Yo Sister! I had no idea you had this site. Me and Ate Tina were just talking about how there was a 3 or 4 year period when we rarely had family parties. Now we have them twice a month!
You should see the kids at the party now. Even Gi is now the older kid now. It's kind of weird yet familiar at the same time.
I actually like the feel of our family parties right now. It feels like when we were kids.
They are great though. Take it easy sister.
