"the core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences"

(emile hirsch in into the wild)
Rather than love, than money, than faith, than fame, than fairness… give me truth.
I read somewhere… how important it is in life not necessarily to be strong… but to feel strong.
Some people feel like they don’t deserve love. They walk away quietly into empty spaces, trying to close the gaps of the past.
I think careers are a 20th century invention and I don’t want one.
so i've never hyped a flick on the bloggy blog here- but after watching into the wild, i felt compelled to. i guess one of the reasons i became a filmmaker was because it's rare for me to find a movie that speaks to me, to my core. often times when peers hype up a flick to me, i'm hesitant...but alas, brother cesar recommended this and guaranteed that i would like it and homeboy was correct.
honestly, if i was a dude, this would be one (of the many) kind of flicks that i would have written (trying to address life and human existence.) into the wild really reminded me of my brother bossch and brother gabe and the no-nonsense attitude and non-materialistic values that we share. that, and the dialogue was filled with a bunch of juicy quotes that people raised in the Pacific Northwest can very much relate to.
Anyhoo, me hyping it probably won't help...but if you watch it and enjoy it then pass on the goodness :)
