all of a sudden the light bulbs are burning above everyone's heads.

the once non-political are suddenly aware and savvy. girlfriends are coming to grips. losers are realizing the power of choice. candidates are preaching participatory communities. being healthy (balanced & active) is the new black. you're not a true hipster until you go 'green.' hard work does indeed (eventually) pay off. people who appear lucky aren't as happy as they may seem. people who are shy are probably more entranced than they let on. the passive suddenly have courage. the selfish are trying to give. givers are trying to think of self. the non materialistic can appreciate the material. people who don't believe in "that stuff" are beginning to skim their horoscopes. boys can be bitches. girls can be just like men. intelligence isn't as real if not shared. condescension is like going back to wearing MC hammer diaper pants. celebrities care. christians are comedians. rich kids have to work. six year olds are more articulate than political commentators. everyone is pregnant, married, getting married or getting a divorce. everyone is a dj. everyone has an opinion. everyone is a filmmaker. everyone is a photographer. everyone is a writer. everyone is smart. everyone is dazed. everyone wants something. everyone has a great idea. everyone is overwhelmed. everyone assumes.
everyone is reflecting. everyone has a blog.

and the first world is now humbled.

this is new terrain.
new approaches must be applied.

let the riots begin.
