to do list
back in la la land.
i'm reminded of a random memory from about a year & a half ago.
i was in the nyc/njc area proper- pretty much writing and hiding out for a couple of months. one evening, i was sitting inside of my cousin tina's apartment in jersey city. i was looking out the window and in one of my 'dazed' states. there was some shit going down outside.
i murmured to myself, "i'm not on the west coast anymore."
my cousin asked, "what did you say?"
i replied, "i really feel like i'm in new york at the moment."
my cousin tina replied, "why, because there is domestic violence happening outside of my window?"
we shared a laugh and i remember thinking to myself, "thank god that the domestic violence is happening from afar and there was currently no drama in my life whatsoever at that particular moment."
ahhhh, i oh-so-want to continue chronicling our malaysia adventures. that is one thing worth writing (& possibly worth reading) but as life happens, random occurrences often interrupt what one desires at this very second.
so here is my to do list for today:
1) email my women's policy institute group. let them know my concerns for the project and that i will not be able to be present for our conference call today. the priority for us today is to clean up this crazy person's shit.
2) i knew that this leadership program would come in handy eventually! time to exercise my negotiation/research/law skillllllzzzzz. CONTACT Cherri. Let her know the updates with crazy man. Ask her for more legal advice based on what has happened within the past day.
3) Head to Borders. Pick up the 'Every Tenant's Legal Guide' as recommended by Cherri. Skim and read through what applies to us. Add our legal jargon to the formal letter we've composed that also includes our incident log with crazy man.
4) Meet with the homies to discuss our plan and to review the formal letter we've created before we submit it and get our lives back to where they should be.
5) File for the Civil Harassment Restraining Order. I must go to downtown LA to file this. It's stated that I must notify the harasser while I am in the process of filing this. Being that the fucker is smart, that, I'll him credit for. I know he might be reading this. So, consider yourself notified, ASSHOLE.
6) Email the homie Cherri our final draft of our legal document for her review. Now I owe her two drinks next time I see her!
7) Submit document to all participating parties that are obligated to give us what we need in our right to be "provided a safe environment."
8) Connect scanner and printer to the new abode that we've been forced to crash at. We're refugees, on the real! So, this is what it feels like. Hmmmm. THANKS GREGORY PACIFICAR!
9) Review my Malaysia receipts/expenses and spreadsheet. Remind Greg to continue logging the footage. We have our first deadline for this documentary. YAH! We need a rough cut by Feb 24th. YIKES! That’s soon.
10) Follow up with my to do list from yesterday...which I obviously, didn't finish.
ohhh life. lah, dah, dee....
